about to get 90 Seville repainted--looking at Maaco?
I drive a 1990 Cadillac Seville , this is Chapel Hill/ Durham NC area.. its white with a red line on both sides with 18" chrome wheels e&g grille 1941 hood goddess tinted windows and a nice sound system.. its really pimped but the problem is that from upclose its obvious to see that the paint is chipping and its old so the paint has faded. I really want to get it painted a pearl white like they do those new Cadillac's so clean, I am looking at Maaco the Signature paint job since I am looking to spend around $1,000-$1,700.. I see people on here no-stop bashing maaco but then they say u get what u pay for, well Im not tring tol get the cheap paint job. so anyways what do you all think about maaco signature paint job to make a 1990 white Cadillac Seville a fresh Pearl White.. And do you think I could ask for an extra clear coat? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2322206 PICTURES OF MY CAR

- Find another place to get it painted! Unless you want to do this again in a couple years.
- You are painting it the correct color. never change the color of a car without a total strip down and repaint in a atop shop or about $6000.00 for this car. Your ride is worth about 6 to 7K where I live in Seattle WA, with a paint job, and your choice of color, cool, it will hit the $10,000.00 list It is true you get what you pay for to a point, you also can over pay for a shop that is just out for work and turning a car or two a day. Macco has been in business all of my life, and their not at the bottom of the list of places to go for paint jobs. As for the extra coat, yes I would ask for it and offer a little tip on the side for the painter if you like the final look!
- maaco is fine, as long as you get it painted about the same color, as for the pin stripe, try to get it off first, i really can't say anything about it but, a razorbade, a steady hand, lots of patience and some carb and choke cleaner to remove the sticky residue. Also i have had my Maaco paint job for at least 7 years, no probs, other than the wife hitting a pole with my truck.
