i am debating on whether not buy this vehicle listed on ebay they provided the following information:"UP FOR BIDS IS A NICE LOOING RAM TRUCK IT HAS WHITE LETTER TIRES ,4X4 , AUTOMATIC WITH OVERDRIVE IT HAS A POWERFUL 5.9 LITER V-8 THAT DOES NEED SOME WORK IT MAKES A RASTTLING NOISE WHEN IT STARTS,, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE OIL PUMP SCREEN IS STOPPED UP BUT IT HOLDS GOOD OIL PRESSURE AND RUNS GOOD WITH THUNDERING SOUNDING DUAL EXHAUST !! BIG CHROME TIPS THIS IS A GREAT TRUCK TO PUT IN THE WOODS IT WILL DRIVE ,BUT I WOULD NOT SUGGEST FOR A LONG TRIP ..   1. Hey it needs some work, but at the rate diesel prices (vehicle, not fuel) are skyrocketing due to the biofuel craze, that's a steal for a Cummins. Buy it, sink a few grand into repairs, and you'll have a $6000 truck, easy.
  2. wow, what a gas guzzler. get something that gets AT LEAST 20 mpg fer chrissakes.
  3. sounds like oil is not getting up to the valve springs at start up. Oil pan screen is plugged?? probably due to not changing the oil regularly. Sounds like it will need an engine overhaul reel quick.
  4. rattling could be something loose but if they mean knoking it is the valves but you might want to check it out your self or something cus i have one (the exact same with 124 miles on it) and i tell you if you dont take care of them then you will need a new one soon it gives you roughtly about 7-9 miles per gallon and if they havent already changed the tranny you will have to soon. well invwestigate a bit further and see whats going on and think about it
