- Great you're going to start skating! Okay, so I hope I help you a little here... Trucks: You seem to be listing colors more than brands... Some good brands are Venture, Independent, and I think Tensor is good as well as Destructo.. Grind King probably too. I have Independent trucks, but I've heard that they're kind of heavy. Colors don't matter, just pick one you like. For size you NEED to get the same width as the board you picked or you will have big problems... Since your deck is going to be 7.75 pick 7.75 trucks as well. Wheels: When I got my board I just picked some wheels that had I design I liked. I have Spitfire wheels. I'm not sure how the featherlight wheels work so you may need to ask someone else... And what the difference is between the size, I don't know myself! Bearings: They go in the wheels to make them go smoothly. Better the bearing the faster you can go. I would recommend one of the Bones brand bearings. Though a bit more costly, they are good quality. I have the Red Bones bearings. Grip: I think they will put it on for you... They'll probably charge you some amount of money, hopefully not expensive. Maybe try and find some skaters at your school and ask them for help? Or find some online tutorial and do it yourself. Here's something you didn't ask... Risers: These are optional, they're plastic things that go between the board and the trucks. They're supposed to prevent your trucks from bending from too sharp of a turn and then the wheel scratching your board. Also I think a site called CCS.com will greatly help you. There you can buy the parts you're looking for. I buy all my stuff from there. They'll have to be shipped, however.
