''trick my truck" I own a "1954 chev."carryall" (p.u.) "5100" ,254 "blue flame" straight 6. 7000 original mile
this truck was originaly owned by the "Brollingbrook,Il." fire dept. who removed the original bed and replaced it w/ diamond plate steel rear platform/bed.which simulates a firetruck.original milage is 7,ooo . due to the fact it was rarely used.it is in very good+,condition.I would to complete the project but could use guidance& or help.I have added chrome wheels & wide tires to give it the hot rod effect.this vehicle is already an eyecatcher.w/ some t.l.c. it could be a show winner. any response would be appreciated. thank you.

- Dump the Blue Flame six in favor of a small block Chevrolet "Crate" engine. Put a turbo 350 or 400 trans behind it. There are mounting kits available for this conversion. Find an original bed on E-Bay. Put a dropped spindle front axle and go for an upgraded interior. You could easily have a classic "rod" for a few thousand bucks. The value of those trucks here in So Cal is as high as 25 grand.
