  1. well, no.... cause the steal wool will scratch your chrome.... try using some form of degreaser......then a form car wash and a soft cloth to dry and polish your wheels....
  2. Yes.. fine steel wool works great for cleaning chrome. Have any of you that say it will scratch the chrome ever tried it? I'm sure if your using coarse steel wool like you clean your dishes it would scratch. But fine steel wool is made specifically for polishing metal (and other materials)
  3. Some wheels have a clear coat on them, use rubbing compound to clean them, if the wheels are aluminum without a clear coat use aluminum polish then coat with wax to protect the finish.
  4. NO!!! Steel wool will scratch the chrome, and lead to pitting and rusting of your rims. Use a little warm soap and water with a sponge or wheel brush.
  5. yes you can but try using brake part cleaner first, if that don't work then use the steel wool
  6. USE MOTHERS'S MAG cleaner that shit works good
  7. My son uses Mother's Mag cleaner and he's quite happy with it. If you do want to try your mehtod, then by all means do it in a very inconspicuous place and see what happens.
  8. yes no yes no yes no . laundry soap .make your own mix. brush or a cloth towel . wal-mart has a orange cleaner qt, size bout $4.oo put in a spray bottle .mix as you will . stuff works on engine oils too. works well as a hand cleaner .very well.
  9. it should work or you can just use a s.o.s pad and some glass cleaner
  10. if they are all chrome and not any painted surfaces or clearcoat 000 steel wool works great on chrome, I use it all the time on the chrome of my old show cars and does a teriffic job of cleaning the chrome without scratching it, also works good on slight glass scratches.
