Torque and Chrome

How do you remove salt from chrome plated wheels?

Car was down in Florida right off the beach and wheels appear to have alot of salt and sand on them.

  1. Hot water will dissolve the salt, and if it is pressurized will wash the sand away. Be sure to polish or wax inside and out when your finished.
  2. We get alot of salt in Minnesota too. Best thing is to wash with hot soapy water and some elbow grease. It can be a pain, but, if you don't the wheel will pit and then your screwed, because noone warranties pitted wheels. Also got to make sure you get that brake dust off. That can be just as, if not more harmful. Front and back, so it might be a good idea to do the back of the wheels when you rotate them. then polish and wax them.
