Torque and Chrome

What size of chrome wheels should I put on a 1998 Nissan Sentra?

  1. I wouldn't go more than 18"'s.
  2. Don't have your parents waste their money on it.
  3. 14"
  4. Don't waist any money, especialy wheels, on that POS. Save your money honey and get a real car that is worthy of custom wheels!!!
  5. I assume what you are looking at doing is "up sizing" or "plus sizing" . Since there are a couple of optional tires for the Sentra rule of thumb is going a "plus one" or plus two" there are coversion charts available at most tire shops and they can tell you exactly what your options are based on your current size of tire. Anyway based on what the Tire Guide says I wouldn't go any more than a 17" wheel since your current size is more than likely a 14" or 15" now. Maybe an 18" would work depending on how much clearance on the suspension is available and what kind of offset is available on the 18" wheel. What is going to happen next is you are going to increase the width (the first three numbers of the tire size) of the tire more than what it is now by at least two sizes and decrease the profile ( the second two numbers of the tire size) by 5 or 10. So say you start with a 195 60R 15 you would be going up to a 205 55R 16. This keeps the overall diameter within 3% of the orginal tire size.Same principal can be used with a 17" wheel.
  6. You did not specify the height or width..The width is wow wide of a tire can go on without rubbing the calipers or the inside of the fender wells...Good guess would be 15x6.5
