Torque and Chrome

I need to clean some chrome motorcycle wheels. What is the best home cleaning product to use?

  1. Mixture of Kerosene and edible oil can be used first to remove the oily material sticking to the wheel. Thereafter , some Surf powder can be used to remove the corrosion products. Finally any detergent powder can be helpful in cleaning dust/dirt etc.
  2. I find the best home cleaning product to use on any piece of chrome is sos pads. you dip them in water make sure youe get them good and wet and rub the wheels lightly andd it will help remove anything from chrome even rust spots.
  3. spend the 4 bucks and get some chrome cleaner from mothers I have been a detailer for 25 years and tried everything cheap or home remedies to try and save money but the absolute best is mothers
  4. Ordinary glass cleaners work great. If there is mild rust or some type of heavy grime ,get some chrome polish at the auto parts store. DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL, S.O.S PADS, SANDPAPER or any abrasives on chrome, it will scratch and dull it.
  5. Windex is the best product to use on chrome wheels!
  6. mother's does an exceptionally good job. worthy of the 4 buxs be sure.
  7. Use a sharp rock, wrapped in sandpaper soaked in acid, Bang the Chrome Wheels until the dirt falls off ,then dry them with a blow torch. Or use window cleaner. Some of those answers !??!?
  8. Windex!!!!!!!
  9. I like Windex for some things like chrome. If you have a grease problem, Simple Green is good, too, use it straight from the bottle. Avoid CLR or anything that has acids or caustics...I knew one guy who thought Easy-Off oven cleaner would be a good idea on his aluminum Kawasaki engine, since it got hot and that's how oven cleaners work...no matter how much he shined and polished after that, it never looked quite the same... ;););) Kenny ;o)
