Geometryyy?
2. Kathryn is interested in purchasing a new automobile. The basic car, comes with power steering, power disc brakes, automatic transmission and an AM/FM radio. The brochure shows 10 additional options available, at extra cost, of course, for the car she intends to purchase. The option list is given as follows: AM/FM radio with CD player, sunroof, leather interior seats, air conditioning, cruise control, interval wipers, sport wheel covers, custom floor mats, chrome body moulding, remote side mirrors. (a) How many different configurations of options can Kathryn choose? (b) Kathryn has decided to get the AM/FM radio with CD player and the sunroof. How many configurations are now possible?

- Umm yeah, this isnt geometry.... But anyways you need more information with this question!
- there are twelve different items, each of them having twelve different options. 12^2=144. 144 options are available. if she chooses three options, you are just narrowing it down to a total of nine options. 9^2 = 81. now 81 options are available.
- Would you please tell us, how did you decide to classify this question under Geometry?!?? Terrible...you do not even have a comprehension of what a problem is about 1) Different configurations available are 10C0+10C1+10C2+.....+10C10 (assuming she does not select anything - that is also one of the combinations possible) 2)If the 2 options are already selected, she has only 2C1+2C2 = 3 possibilities (and these are CD Player, Sunroof, and CD Player AND sunroof)
- Use your favorite search engine (and/or your math book...what a concept) to find information on: Combinations and permutations If this still doesn't compute, ask your teacher for extra help.
- Please show us your work in how you attempted to find the answers. Then, we will affirm if you did it correctly or show you where you went wrong. Just doing it for you is NOT Homework HELP.
