  1. Hardly anyone does chrome plating any more because it uses very very toxic chemicals and it costs a lot to dispose of them. Notice how you don't see chrome bumpers on cars anymore. Call any plating shop in your area and ask them if anyone does chrome plating. Places who used to do it but don't anymore will know who does now. Be aware, though, that if you want -shiny- chrome, that mirror finish we usually think of as chrome, the part has to be polished before it's plated.
  2. your best advise you are going to get is from the harley dealer and other hog owners=they will know who is good and does a beautiful job= i don't know where your located=but there is a great shop in milwaukee.
  3. chrome plating is very common- most any body shop will know someone who does it- its getting quite expensive due to the chemicals involved-check your yellow pages or contact a few body shops.ive had several bumpers re-chromed.
  4. Browns Plating used to be the best. I think they are located in Kentucky. Only thing is they got so busy you had to give them $1200 a month worth of work. Try going to dealer he might be able to fix you up. I had a solid wheel plated about 22 yrs. ago and it cost me $300 back then.
  5. Yeah you can get them plated but You can buy a new wheel for about the same price when all is said & done If a spoke wheel a lot cheaper
  6. No dipping, Electro plating. Look in the Yellow pages for someone in your area, or google for somewhere to mail. Metal polishing and plating. 200-400 for a mag wheel, if it's spoked, you are better off tearing it down and rebuilding it with a new rim.
  7. you can buy custom wheels for a comparable price to plating, and plating an old wheel can still show some flaws
