Torque and Chrome

why isnt my chrysler 300 worth anything?

my dad bought a 2005 chrysler 300 touring edition.(in the year 2005) it has 20 inch rims on it (chrome!) and chrome on the windows and chrome on the sides! we wanted to trade it in for a 2007 honda ridgeline and they would only give us 18,000 for it! thats like a compact car! why isn't it worth anything! it has a 263 engine and its a luxury car! or is the hemi the edition thats worth the money! and ill tell you that ridleine was nice! what can my dad trade it in for like a pickup instead of a compact car? it has 34,000 miles on it. i think fork is the right answer! my dad said he will try! by the way th chrysler looks someone will by it more than what the ridgeline cost!

  1. Big dollars are almost never received on trade ins, keep the 300 for a while.
  2. you would get more money for the 300 if you sold it privately. may take longer, but you'll get more for it.
  3. because its a chrysler...lol
  4. if you look at the book value on almost any car it will depreciate about 100 bucks a week from the day it leaves the lot as new. 18,000 is a very reasonable price for it. You do know that when you buy a new car, it's actual value is nothing close to the selling price, don't you?
  5. All Dealerships will never give what a vehicle is worth even on a trade-in.Reason is because they have to service and sell the car with a warranty, guarantee inspection, plus their overhead costs. You stand a better chance selling the vehicle on your own with some kind of warranty even if it is just a 30 day.Check here for value results by kelly Blue Book. http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/default.aspx?make=Chrysler&model=300#used
  6. The Jap dealers would rather have a another jap car traded in then an american car the only way they can recoop there $$ is to wholesale the us car and for that reason they offer you such a small price your better off selling your us car out right to someone looking for that yr model may take longer but will put more $ in your pocket now for the ridgeline check out your motor trend mag ridgeline has poor customers that would buy it again is having some major recalls and isn't really a truck in some forms better read up or be sorry later.
