Whats the difference in alloy, aluminum, and chrome wheels in terms of duribility and scratch resistance?
Im looking at buying new wheels for my 97 mustang gt and i wanted to know what would be the best fit?

- Chromed steel wheels can rust in areas prone to it (like the northern half of the U.S.) Aluminum (also called alloy) wheels are more prone to scratches from things hitting them. I would just get whatever you think looks best, but you could always get chromed aluminum wheels, so you have the gleam of chrome without the rust of aluminum.
- alloy/aluminium are one of the same. They are a mix of metals mostly aluminium thats why they are called alloy. Chrome wheels are more durable and shiny. but if chrome wheels are scratched they rust as with alloy you can sand a polish a scratch out.
