- it depends n where and how badly it is bent if it is a small bend on the lip then you can pound it out with a rubber mallet with a towel over the chrome anything more and it will need to be pressed straight there should be a company like rim pro that makes a business out of fixing rims for far less then they cost if they cannot fix it they have a large stock of reconditioned rims for sale they would probably have one if yours is too mangled
- sometimes you can hit it with a big hammer but it really depends on how bad its bent.... ive bent out many of them changing tires for a living... some you just cant fix.... some towns have wheel shops you could try one of them if you have one if not your done
- YOU DON'T, just get another one even if it requires research.
- if its slightly bent you use a spoke wrench.this is called truing a rim.if you dont have a truing stand you flip the bike upside down and use your rim brakes or the frame as a guide.its not easy to learn but with practice you will get it.you tighten and loosen the spokes .go in small increments and spin the rim to see if you made it better or worse.
- if it is aluminum if you try to straighten it it may crack either way the chrome will most likely chip off there is some spectily wheel shops that may have specialty tools to do it a hammer wont work don't do it
