Torque and Chrome

How would I go about painting Chrome center caps Black?

Bought black rims that came with chrome center caps, And I hate chrome, How would I sand it down and paint them black? Has this even been done before?

1. try acid etching the chrome with some muriatic acid (not for too long) followed by sandblasting.
2. Simply scuff the surface with a fine grain sandpaper. Try not to put any large scratches in because they may show through the paint. You may want either a flat black, semi-gloss, or full gloss black automotive paint. Special wheel paints are offered by places like Eastwood Automotive which are supposed to repel brake dust. I'm not sure its really necessary though, especially on black wheels. Periodically you'll need to repaint them as they will get scratched if you go offroad.
