- There is a good product I found at cycle shops for cleaning the bad stuff off chrome. I've got it out in my garage somewhere. See if someone posts back or I'll post the name to you later. It's a slightly abrasive "polish". The consistency of slightly runny toothpaste. Comes in a little toothpase like tube. You use a little and have to rub like hell but it will clean it. Usually cycle shops have this stuff due to all the chrome parts.
- go to the parts house and buy a polish/stain remover for the chrome and buy one of the red round polishing balls then with your drill and with polishing ball in it set down take your time and polish it out
- Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish....best stuff i've found, takes a lot of elbow grease. If you've got a cordless drill, you can pick up one of those buffer balls for it. Follow the directions and it will remove virtually anything, including mild rust!!
- Try fine steel wool and kerosene. It's economical and easy.
- Good Answer Rick I was going to mention Mothers. they have great line of products and i use theirs for my wheels
- ketchup like you eat. the acid eats the stains right off and its alot cheaper than mothers
