Torque and Chrome

Need some advice on a 2006 Pontiac g6 with a rebuilt title?

well I went and looked at a 2006 pontiac g6 today with 16k miles but its rebuilt. Its a 4 cylinder 4 door. It drove really nice and everything but I do not like the guy. He seen really sketchy but maybe its just cuz he's foriegn and doesn't speak good English. It was hit in the front n he told me that the airbags didnt come out but some kids stole them. He alson has a 2005 g6 with 23k miles, v6, leather, sunroof, heated seats, and chrome rims for $11000 the plain 2006 is $8750. If I had my mechanic check the car out what would you guys say is a good price for them? Can you show me a website with info on the price so I can print it out n show him if its cheaper than what he's asking? thanks well um mdmauto i want an answer more than just saying that rebuilt titles are all bad because i KNOW that is not true..... and if I look it up in carfax, then i will know how bad the damage was and i would have a mechanic that ive known for about 25 years look over the whole thing and tell me if it was poorly done or still has things wrong with it. and John Paul, i was researching last night and found out that rebuilt titles are book at 40% to 50% of the Kelly blue book price. The blue book price is 14,000 for the nice one with leather and everything so that means i might be able to get it for $7000 and if my mechaninc tells me its fine then i think it would be worth it for that price. I printed the blue book value out and im going to take it to him and see what he says

  1. DO NOT BUY A BRANDED TITLE CAR !!!!!! you never know how bad the damage was! and how many cars are in one now!
  2. Sounds weird and rebuilt title cars are not worth much at resale time. What if the front end was poorly reinstalled and you get killed in a crash "rebuilt title" What if the car quits running poorly reassembled or cannot make emissions test? Then you look for Mr. Shady Iran and cannot find any one who knows him? If it sounds to good to be true it is! And most of all... The bitter taste of low quality lasts far longer than the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
