- No, the breaker bar would have more torque. You would probably damage a torque wrench using it that way.
- A torque wrench is not, and should not be used as, a breaker bar. You could mess up its calibration or break it. It's meant for torquing stuff down and nothing else.
- NO!! Do not use a torque wrench to remove bolts, especially stuck ones. Fastest way known to take it out of calibration. It may give you more leverage because it is longer than a regular wrench or a breaker bar.
- a SHARP blow with a hammer.on the head of the bolt...(not on the threads) may help... then use a socket & breaker bar.. if you need more leverage.. you can slip a lenght of pipe over the breaker bar... but you can snap the socket or bend the breaker bar if your not carefull.. IMPACT wrench is the easy fix...if you have a compressor.. OR an impact driver may help as well.. you can buy a cheap impact driver at the local auto store for around $20 heat from an OXY torch may help if you have one..
