Harley Davidson Sportster Grips!?

I just got grips from my harley off the net yesterday. They have not made it to my house yet, but by looking at the picture i don't see a place for the throttle cables anywhere on either one of the grips. Here is a link to the picture, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Sportster-Dyna-Softail-CHROME-GRIPS-/390323525737?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae1185869. Sorry if link does not work. Is it possible that they are just slip on. If so, do i just cut the rubber off the throttle side?? Im confused. I have never put grips on myself just been reading and watching videos, but i can not find anything that helps me with my question.

  1. Most grips slip on. There will be a plastic sleeve under your grip and it'll go over that, when I did mine it was a hardship because I have 1inch bars but it takes a 1 1/4 inch with the sleave, I used this tacky lube for grips that I bought at my local shop.
  2. their is a plastic sleeve under the grip.slice the old grip lengthwise and then blow compressed air through from the other grip to pop the grip off.repeat for the other side.To place the new grips on spray them with hairspray inside and they will slide right on,not only will the hairspray lube them and help you slide them on it will act as a glue when it dries.I just hooked you up with an ol school trick.I been doin this stuff since i was 16!
