  1. You can buy chrome cleaner from any Auto Parts store, or even the auto accessories dept. at WalMart might sell it. Turtle Wax used to make one that was like a liquid polish, but I haven't been able to find it for years.
  2. Chrome polish is all that i would use.
  3. Try coke classic (red lable). It worked real well for me then make sure to polish it up after
  4. The problem with rust is that it is already damaged. You can try to clean it without further damage with above answers.
  5. There is a product called "Never Dull" . It will gradually remove the rust, without creating any more damage. Use metal polish (like Mother's) afterwords, to protect from rusting again. Naval Jelly will work but the rust area will look Gray.
  6. Go to Mama's or wife's kitchen and look in her baking supplies for vinegar. It contain's acetic acid (ethanoic acid: CH3COOH) that has a mild action on the rusted victim. A more aggressive remover is HCL (hydrochloric acid or hygrogen chloride)...it will damage your chrome big time.
