Craftsman 1/2 inch torque wrench gives what kind of warning when at selected torque?

I got a half inch socket craftsman torque wrench and i was just wondering what kind of warning it gives when you've torqued the bolt to spec.. cause i over torqued a bolt and ruined the threads.. problem is that i didn't feel any kind of warning, the usual click or snap you get with other torque wrenches. I torqued to 110 ft-lbs. and then the felt the bolt release.. that made me sad.

  1. I am sorry but have to laugh. you have the wrench and you are asking me about it. it is either a click type or the old flex beam. if you torqued a bolt to 110 and it snapped, there are a few reasons for that, over torqued, weak bolt.
  2. one no cam bolts tourk at 110 onley head bolts do se your tork wrence have nedle or turn handle to dile in number if neadle pull till neadle reach 30 lb. for most cam bolts check book for spicif tourk or a tork gide by size of bolt thred size not nut size
  3. Torque wrenches need checked periodically, yours may be messed up. It should just click.
  4. You should always test your torque wrench at a small value to make sure you hear it clicking. I had to torque bolts at 20 ft-lbs. I over torqued by 4 ft-lbs and couldn't figure out why. Turned out, at such a low torque, the clicking is a lot softer.
