Torque and Chrome

Should I buy this camaro?

It's a 1984 iroc and here's the details: body is in black primer no rust straight body t tops electric windows and seats , 350 turbo trans. 350 motor has knock which means its gonna have to be replaced or rebuilt but all new parts such as fuel pump, timing chain, oil pump, starter, radiator, altenator, headers, and flowmaster exhaust, new shocks, nice interior, grant gt wood grain steering wheel, chrome gauges, custom 12' sub box in trunk, 3in cowl induction hood It's $500 sorry forgot to put that.

  1. not unless you know have enough money/skills to swap the motor, the knock means it's done. if you do, I'd say go for it, the rest of the car sounds pretty cherry.
  2. well depends on the price...if cheap yes if too expensive no
  3. how much
  4. If your gonna replace the stuff on it then yes, but only if body is in good condition. P.s. Camaro's are the best cars!!
  5. Depends on price, your skill level, tools and work area you have, etc. $500 sounds like a great price if you have the means and skill to remove and rebuild engine Truthfully if the engine is knocking, then count all the internal parts of engine as rebuildable only and scrap for some. Like the "new timing chain" Not worth risking the damage over a $30 part A car like that camaro with out a good engine don't bring much, no matter how nice other parts are. To give you an idea of prices.. I bought a 1986 camaro (mostly for the hood) for $500. The car had a swapped in 350 (knocking bad), th-350 trans, edelbrock performer RPM intake, 600 cfm man choke carb, accel cap and super coil with accel plug wires, hedman shorty headers, aftermarket Y pipe, single 3" exhaust with transvers flowmaster muffler, American racing torque thrust D wheels, T top, nice clean red interior, decent '20 foot' black paint job, 3.42 open rear end, harwood bolt on fiberglass 4" cowl hood. I bought it just as a parts car, pulled wheels, hood, interior, engine, trans and rear. Took rest of car to the crusher, sold some of the parts I took off, and used a few parts on my car (1988 camaro)
