Torque and Chrome

Can you improve the look of curb scratched chrome rims?

This weekend I scratched my nice new chrome rims on the curb pretty bad... (ouch). I feel like an idiot. I know that in order to get it fixed back to normal it would need to be re-chromed, but is there anything I can do to make it not as noticable? Is there a way to lessen the appearance of the scratch? It's driving me crazy.

  1. Check around for Wheel Doctors, or call local dealers, they probably have a number to one. I used a wheel doctor guy who was mobile and fixed wheels back to brand new looking.
  2. Get a rag(or a buffing wheel attached to a drill) some chrome polish and start buffing the hell out of them if it is a surface scratch that is...If you can feel a indent in the metal they will deffinetly need rechroming
  3. You could try the mothers powerball, it has worked good for me when I need to polish somthing
