Does a torque wrench need special torque socket?
Can I use normally sockets with a torque wrench or do I need to buy special torque sockets to use with the torque wrench? I have a torque wrench that will be used mainly to tighten the axle nut on my motorcycle which is 100Nm. Basically, I am wondering can I use a normal socket with the wrench or should I look out for a special torque socket?

- No. The torque wrench just lets you dial in the amount you want to tighten a nut; mechanisms in the wrench prevent over tightening any nut.
- Don't use 'wobbler' sockets, but otherwise, use anything you want to.
- Use normal sockets
- No any socket will work but a 6 point impact socket is best
- Depends on the quality of your sockets. If they're cheap (great neck or stanley or generic chinese crud) you'll probably end up stripping them. But otherwise...a torque wrench is just an accurate socket wrench.
- Any Socket will work, but could crack. Impact sockets are stronger and can withstand higher torque loads
- As said any will do but Impact are best. I use the Halford Pro ones for my bike as you can buy single ones for the size you require.
- normal sockets will work fine, you don't need special sockets.
