Torque and Chrome

Can you refer me to someone who can make me a custom grille for my truck?

I have a 1979 GMC pickup truck with a OEM grille that I would like to chrome out. I was wondering if anyone knows who can take the original design and make me a custom grille made of chrome not plastic. I can send them the grille so, that can have the dimensions

  1. Chrome is a surface coating -- nobody makes grilles (or anything else) made of pure chrome. Generally chrome parts are made of aluminum, steel, or stainless steel, and then coated with chrome afterward. There are lots of companies that sell metal replacement grilles for your truck. They're usually called "billet", which means they're machined from a solid block of metal. Google Products has over 50,000 result for "1979 gmc billet grille." Pick whatever looks best! http://www.google.com/products?q=1979+gmc+billet+grille Being metal, those will be pretty shiny even without a chrome plating finish. If it's not shiny enough for you, you could easily have one of those chromed by a company like Advanced Plating in Nashville, TN: http://www.advancedplating.com/services.htm If you don't want to buy a billet grille first, you could send your plastic grille to a company like this one: http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/ They don't use real chrome, because chrome only sticks well to metal. It will look good though!
