Torque and Chrome

What do I need to look for when buying a torque wrench?

I need a torque wrench to take of my wheels and stuff, but I don't know what things to consider when buying one. I was planning on going to Sears and get a Craftsman wrench since they usually make good stuff, but they usually have more than one type of everything so how do I choose which one to get. Also, about how much should a torque wrench cost?

  1. go with the type that has the adjuster on the end of it that you can simply rotate to your desired torque spec. the types that have the long bar that rotates are less accurate, especially if you have it at an angle that you cant keep one hand on the pivot point.
  2. 1 you dont really need a tq wrench for wheels,,,maybe for stuff though 2 make sure its craftsman not just sears,,[there is a difference in lifetime warranty] don't ask lol 3 cost is 15 to 150 dollars,,,like many things you get what you pay for,,, 4 1/2 inch or 3/8 most smaller stuff is ok with a 3/8 5 make sure its in foot pounds,,,inch pounds if for fine/small stuff 6 get the best you can afford it will last a lifetime or until you get robbed [dont ask lol] get the clicker type the "bar beam" is cheap but isn't very accurate look up you head bolt torque requirements,,,thats where you need a torque wrench,,make sure your new wrench capacity is in the range,,
