Torque and Chrome

How to add chrome to plastic?

I have a 06 Honda Civic and the 'H' emblem on my steering wheel peeled off (about a centimeter stripped off) because I used abrasive spray to rub it when I was cleaning it. Here is a sample picture of a non-peeling H emblem on a steering wheel: http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/honda_civic_si_coupe_6_spd_mt_2009_interior_steeringwheel.jpg What can I do to restore the chrome like paint on it? All i see now is some white plastic underneath it. Is there perhaps some silver/chrome-like paint that I can rub on it with fingers to at least cover the white plastic? I can't remove the H emblem as it's hooked onto the steering wheel, and I don't want spray paint anywhere inside my car. Thanks.

  1. There is no spray that you can use to fix it. The only way to fix it and restore it back to it's original condition would be to replace the driver's airbag (around $1000 installed) because the emblem is not sold seperately from Honda.
  2. Go to a hobby shop get some chrome paint and a small paint brush.
  3. you can buy chrome touch up paint aswell as to have it chrome plated it cost about 250 goodluck!
