Torque and Chrome

Who here knows cars??????????

How's this for a first car? "95 Mustang $3000 OBO MUST GO!!! - $3000" 149k miles 95 Mustang w/ a V6 automatic. I need the cash so this car has got to go this weekend. Asking $3000 or best offer. Passed emissions and diagnostic scan with flying colors. Has 19" chrome wheels, dual exhaust, aftermarket taillights, automatic tranny, power seats, power windows and locks. Has A/C but have never checked if it works. Things you should know. This car needs a paint job--I was looking at Maaco and they quoted me $300 to paint it same blue. Window tint was done poorly in rear windshield so depending on your taste, you may want to redo it. No radio but it is fully wired for a deck to be put in (wires ran through to trunk). Can't stress enough, I need the car gone. Come with Cash, I'll give you the title, and you can drive it home today. Clean title in hand, serious inquiries only please. Only things that are necessary on all cars I'll spend. (I'll put a radio/cd player in there too, shouldn't be too much) But as far as paint goes, I don't care... it's a first car. But what you guys think, is this good for a first car? Does it have too many miles on it or can mustangs take it?

  1. I bought my first mustang at 16, and 3000 is wayyyyy too much for a 95 mustang with that many miles. Way too much, You have to think about that mileage on the car and what year. You price the car, with how many miles it has along with what year and other stuff like new engine, or what not. My new mustang is a 96 5-speed, and I'm paying 6000 for it. I got it with 107,000 miles.. that is alot of money for that car, but it's what I wanted and I'm happy I got it.
  2. thats a very bad choice you should get a volvo as a first car because it is alot safer
  3. I'd say check blue book value first. http:\\www.kbb.com On any used car purchase, you need to have about $1000 saved for repairs. Most people that sell used cars have a mental list of repairs that they know need to be done, but won't fix or tell you about. You can never plan on not putting money into a car. You need to always have at least a $1000 emergency fund at all times if you rely on a car to get to work. You need to carefully look the car over and test drive it including on the freeway. Evaluate the condition of the car compared to the condition of good, fair, or excellent on kbb.com and see if the price is fair. Check the air cleaner and make sure no oil is in there. If so, politely decline and say you still need to keep looking.
