Clutch Torque?

I currently dont have a torque wrench but need to use my bike this week, which is before i can get a torque wrench.. So, when coming to put my clutch back on i found in the manual the torque settings for the 5 bolts, Now, this is what it says.. "tighten to a final torque setting of 0.3 - 0.5 kgf m (2.0 - 3.5 lbf ft)" Now i have no idea what that really means, in the sense of how much to tighten it without the wrench, but does anyone know how i can tighten to this torque for the clutch spring bolts to be secured safely? 1. Buy a torque wrench, and use it. http://www.emaxaction.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=413 If you can't afford to buy one, see if you can borrow one for the half hour it would take you to do the job. Also some places rent or loan specialty tools to customers.
2. Sounds like pre-load for the clutch pack. 3.5 foot pounds is not very much at all. I think you read it wrong. I could see 20-35 foot pounds. That would be "snug, and a little" or a three finger pull on a ratchet.
3. You should be able to get a loaner from a friends freind if you make a few phone calls. 3.5 ft lbs is not much pressure at all. Just pulling on a wrench a small amount would tend to be much more than that. Note: it is important that you tighten the bolts in a correct pattern. Which means, don't just tighten around in a circle.
4. I agree with mr know it all you should re read the instructions.. that is not a lot of torque. thats about finger tight. OK I looked at the picture, had to . what are you fitting clutch to. I looked at a few haynes manuals. and get cover bolt torque settings from 13 to 21 lbf ft nothing as low as yours. sorry . how are you getting on.
