Aluminum is a alloy..(has many characteristics) I've had chrome plated steel wheels.. Alloy might mean magnesium..which I have heard is the lightest wheel made.
Magnesiam Wheels made by Minilight is the best bet if you want better acceleration and road holding, but it is the most expensive to date
