Torque and Chrome

how can i spray paint over shiny gas tank of a motorcycle. so it looks like chrome still,with a tint?

i have left the top sanded all the way to a 1500 sand paper. want a color tint but over the chrome look. i have not put any polish on it at all.

1. So go get chrome paint. Most parts stores have it in different colors. Just take a chrome piece, spray paint it when translucent color, and you're done. If you had bothered to call around, or simply searched for it, you would have found it....
2. Is this bare steel? I gotta know the base first.
