lose of torque when using a adapter to on a torque wrench?

need to torque head bolts to 75 ft pd but torque wrench is 1/2 inch drive ,socket(10mm hex)is 3/8 socket ok to use adapter? correction allen head sorry and thanks

  1. Yes. The mantra is not to use any sort of extension on torque wrenches and an adapter is an extension, but the error introduced by an adapter is mighty small.
  2. An adapter won't make any difference, but you've got something wrong. There's no way the torque on a 10mm head bolt would be 75 ft lbs.
  3. That must be an allen head that's 10mm. Use the adaptor. I never had a problem with them.
