Torque and Chrome

Do you take pride in your car?

I have a modified 2000 (w) Ford mondeo 2ltr mk2 hatchback, metallic dark blue with twin chrome exhaust system with clear lexus lights, lowered with cosworth 16" alloy wheels, and a wicked sound system, clifford concept cat1 alarm system with auto start & window wined up,only 50.000 on the clock from new, i spend 4 hours every Sunday waxing & polishing it, no scratches or dents or chips,it has never let me down, does not go on long journeys thats why the mileage is low, but i do hate parking, the only problem i hate when going out in it, is parking in dam Asda car parks, clumsy big 4x4 drivers trying to get in a little space designed for a Mini, people not taking care when opening there doors, have you suffered the same problem?, a guy the other day parked right nere to mine then suddenly opened his door very quickly and bashed my rear door, i went mad, look what your doing, he then said, sorry sir, mines a company car, i said, mine is not.....so now i avoid the crowed car parks... By the way guys, i do have a girl and 3 kids, they sometimes help me, plus i work full time...

  1. I do, my 2003 blue Acura is shinier than new cars. But I only use it for highway traveling, not city driving or parallel parking.
  2. No.
  3. I take no pride in material items.
  4. Not really.....I take more pride in the driver
  5. I seriously hate parking next to other cars or having them park next to me as most likely their door will hit your door causing a slight dent. This bothers me big time. Especially when kids are opening doors - like they seem to be brain dead & don't care if the door hits your car, even if your inside at the time. The majority of these occasions, with respect, are female drivers. I have an 05 Ford Focus and look after it well.....but I'm always on the look out in case a nutter parks too close. I carry a camera with me all the time, so I've proof. I've also taken pics of of the most bizarre parking people do.
  6. Depends which one. I have a honda that is a daily driver which I dont really care for but take care of the regular maintanance. I have a 99GT mustang that I take pride in. I bought that car with no miles and every mile on the odometer is my mile. I dont park it next to other cars and park way out there in the parking lot. Its not just red, its shiny red and cleaner than some new mustangs.
  7. as long as its a chevy yes :)
  8. nope if it breaks i buy a new one
  9. Yes! I don't see the point in spending hours/days deciding what car to buy, what colour, options etc. Spending thousands of pounds and then letting it go to waste by neglecting it! I'm not quite as thorough as you are but I maintain my vehicles well, clean them thoroughly, wash and wax regularly etc. You shouldn't have to wax your car quite so much as every week, but as they say "whatever floats your boat!" I'm with you on the dreaded car parking though, people just don't give a sh*t about other peoples cars!
  10. you have too much time on your hands! 4 hours every Sunday! obsess much? It's one thing to take care of your vehicle but seriously go find a woman you say you have a girl and three kids and you work full time. I think it is time you prioritize and maybe take her out to dinner and maybe play a game with or kids or read a book or something
  11. There is nothing wrong with you. If you don't take pride in your car, your car will not like you. Cars have personalities, so you must treat them well. But 4 hours a week just waxing? You probably should find a girl. You should have no problem if your car looks as good as you say.
  12. I take pride in my '79 Firebird. It's my pride and joy! That's all though...none of my other vehicles...
  13. I love my car. She's a 98 R Fiesta, and my first car. I know she's old but I really do try and take care of her!!
