Why are peoples general perception of cars so ghetto nowadays?

I don't get rich people sometimes. Every time I watch MTV cribs and other crap like that, the celebrity is bragging about their Lexus SUV with 25in spinners or something just as pathetically similar. I just think that putting spinners on any type of car or truck is the most ridiculously dis tasteful excuse for a worth while modification since the beginning of time! Don't give me wrong, I think that custom chrome wheels look great on almost anything. But why do they have to disproportionately throw of the vehicles natural beauty with their obnoxious size? I just never thought I'd see the day that people would rather own a Cadillac Esclade with spinners and 50 tvs then a 1970s Pontiac Trans Am or something that's actually unique, sexy, and fast.
