Does anyone know a good way to clean motorcycle chrome? Just bought a 33 yr old bike and it's a mess.?

- Formy 25 year old Honda, I washed it like you normally would a motorcycle using a very soft cloth, dried it off, and then took some 000 or 0000 steel wool to the crome to clean it up from where itwas nicked over time. Small circles and very light pressure worked for me. For the painted parts I cleaned it up again with a very soft cloth and used a clay bar cleaning kit to finish it off. It came out pretty nice for something that old.
- chrome polish, polishing compound, and nothing more aggressive than 600 wet sand paper.
- clean old rusty chrome with scrunched up baco foil aluminium food wrap. It is softer than the chrome but should be harder than the rust and will not damage the metal. I've used this method and it is very effective
- Clean off any dirt, oil or grease, then use a good rust treatment (such as 'Jenolite') and gently rub it into badly pitted areas with fine steel wool. Leave it for 15 minutes and wipe it off with a clean dry cloth (don't wash it off) - then you can start on the chrome polish. Good luck!
