What is the essential torque wrench for a 05' Ninja 250EX?
I need to get a torque wrench for my bike and do not know if a beam wrench is good enough or if I should get a dial wrench. Beam wrenches seem to be around $30ish and the dial ones are $70ish. I also don't know what lb ratings I need to get or whether I should get a 1/2" or 3/4". Any help would be appreciated.

- Really you need two. One for the small stuff and one for the medium stuff. For the small stuff, get a 1/4" drive ratcheting adjustable type, and for the medium stuff, get a 3/8" drive of the same type. If you can only afford one, get the best 3/8" one that you can. The 1/4" should read in inch pounds, and the 3/8" in foot pounds. Good Luck
- Harbor Freight has some very cheap torque wrenches that test out to be pretty accurate. A 3/8" wrench with a range up to 75 lb will cover most motorcycle work. A 1/4" wrench in inch/pounds is appropriate for small fasteners. Be careful using a clicker wrench on small fasteners (6mm or less). It is possible to miss the click on some of them and, if you are not experienced, keep pulling until the fastener breaks.
