How can I paint my stock chrome wheels black?

I have a '96 with stock chrome wheels. The wheels show wear from use and road salt in the winter, but are int pretty good shape nonetheless. I want to paint the wheels black to match my exterior paint. I used VHT Night Shades on a set of emblems to black them out, and they look great. Could I use the Night Shades on the wheels for the same effect? What do I need to do to go from bling to black??
