Is there a special technique for removing chrome mag wheels?

I am removing the front wheels off my galaxie to inspect the brakes. I am wondering, is there a "special technique" for doing this? i mean, I get that I need a socket with a nylon sleeve to prevent scratching the chrome, but is there anything else I should know in removing wheels? I am only double checking, my dad insists I need to go to the tire guy and have him show me, but I am more of a do-it-yourself type.

1. If you are going through the effort of getting a nylon sleeved socket you are in fine shape. I assume you are using an air wrench? If so then your only concern is when you re-tighten the lug nuts. Be careful not to over tighten.
2. nah dude, the nylon sleeve is fine, at our workshop we don't even use them, but we are careful and have been doing them for along time...
