Torque and Chrome

If I want 18" rims for my Camaro, do I have to buy the new tires?

I am looking for some chromes for my 1996 camaro. I have the stock wheels and tires which are 16". Do i have to buy new tires for the new rims to fit?

  1. Yes. Unless you want to rip your tire, Im pretty sure you do. Good luck :)
  2. Yes. New rims = new tires. Depending on where you live you will need to switch them out in the winter too.
  3. yes, the diameter of your stock rims is 16" across, the new ones are 18" . They just plain will not fit. If you get a set of 16" rims, they will most likely fit into the tires you have. If you get any rims besides 16", you will need new tires.
  4. A little common sense would tell you a 16" hole won't fit over an 18" object.
