Is there such a tool as an open end torque wrench?

I need to torque a nut but I can't use a socket. Is there an adapter for the socket-type torque wrench?

  1. Crows Foot socket will work on your torque wrench and not measurably affect torque values.
  2. there are wrench type tools that craftsman makes that can be used on a socket ratchet.hope this helps
  3. You can get something called a crows foot. Take a look here: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10153_12605?keyword=crows+foot You should read the book that came with your wrench if you use these, because when you use this you are changing the amount of leverage applied to the bolt, so you actually have to adjust the torque number you are adjusting to. Good Luck!
  4. yes, there is a tool . one is called a crows foot you can buy at sears or home depot. Another one is called a torque adapter and they would be a lot harder to find . I have made them by welding a socket to the corect size wrench. Keep in mind that the torque setting will be affected as the length of the tool is increased. there is a mathmatical formula that will allow you to compensate the setting .however i don't know the formula
  5. Do this: Get a "crow's foot" wrench from the auto store, that is an open end wrench with a socket hole at the end instead of a handle. Clip your torque on that, and go head with the job. I would not recommend using an extension,it will take away some of the torque, and defeat your purpose.
  6. I was gonna tell you about crow's foot, but I don't think that's needed.
  7. you can try www.bluetool.com i think they have developed one, or just the crows foot on a regular torque wrench should do the trick.
