Why is a 2006 BMW M3 so cheap?

I'm 14 and I've started looking at first cars ( I know, a little early). So, on autotrader i found a 2006 bmw m3 convertible with about 30k miles on it and it was $14000 (it was a private seller). then today i found another one ( not a convertible, but it had a flip up tv screen in the dash and chrome rims) it had 25k miles on it and it cost $13000 (also a pvt seller) can someone tell me why they are so cheap? was there something wrong with both of them? the 1st one was sold by the way.

  1. Price of gas.........everyone is looking for a hybrid now.
  2. It's a misprint..
  3. He is underpressure for money.
  4. There is clearly a mistake. The old M3 had been discontinued, and the only models were variations on the new shape 325 and 330 (now replaced with the 328 and 335). The new M3 only came out in 2008. So something is weird about those ads. At the end of the day, a first car should be sensible. Even if you could buy an M3 convertible for $14K, your insurance would be stupidly high, as would the odds of you wrecking it. An M3 is simply not a sensible choice of car for anyone under 21.
  5. A couple of reasons. The new M3 came out so the older models got cheaper. The gas prices make the resale value's of powerful cars very low.
