is this a good/fair deal on a 2006 dodge mega cab?
2006 dodge ram 1500 mega crew cab standard bed - 4wd slt - 36,590 miles - hemi 5.7 liter v8 sfi - 5spd automatic - chrome wheels - chrome running boards - 3 inch lift? - mostly powered everything - climate control - sec. system - in/exterior seems to be in ex. condition- they are wanting $22,995.00. does that price sound good? also, what kinda gas milage would i be looking at? do these trucks seem to satisfy ppl or be of more trouble than anything. i have a 97 dakoda with 232,000+ miles that has been gr8 to us so far, but wondering about the whopper mega cab.... also, does the 06 have the (thing) where it kicks out of 8cyl into 4cyl?

- 22.9k seems a little high, offer them 20.9k out the door and see if they bite.
- that is a good deal on that truck, but that's top dollar for it,and your not going to get the gas mileage the Dakota gets believe me,you,ll be in store for a rude awakening when you set down and figure out the mileage you wont be getting with the hemi, they like gas,and there's no making them do good on it either, that truck should be priced at about 20 grand, from what i have seen of them on the lots and at the car sales,so id offer them less,I'm sure they will take it,because they will be wanting to sell this one real quick, you can use this car site to compare prices to that might help you with getting them to bring the price down some,it has worked in the past for a few people, good luck .http://www.carmax.com/dyn/usedcar/usedcar.aspx
- If you are concerned about mileage (who isn't?) go with the 5.9 liter Cummins diesel. You will have to get a 3/4 or 1 ton and it will cost more...but, you will get 20 plus mpg! I know, I own one. The last highway trip I took, I got 24.8 mpg average...in town I get 20-22 mpg regularly. The diesels trucks last much longer, it isn't uncommon to see them with 200,000 or more miles. Good luck!!!
- From what I've been seeing on my looking for an 06 Mega Cab, yes. That is a great price. AutoTrader is costing me more around the $25-27,000 mark. They have been expensive in my looking. Of course they are pricing it higher than the lowest they will take, so I'd offer them a little lower than their asking price. Their asking price is never the lowest they will take. So negotiate with them, and take the price down a little bit. Also on KBB, for the most part they have been priced expensive on there. However, seeing that it's an SLT, their price might not be that far off of the mark. Best to do a little bit of research over the vehicle, and get to know it. And not positive, but I believe that they have that where they switch between 4 and 8 cylinders.
