is there a primer and paint to cover scratches on a motorcycle exhaust pipe?

someone scratched my exhaust pipe on my new motorcycle and is there a primer and a chrome color paint I can buy that will withstand the heat coming from the exhaust pipe

1. Please: do you know the amount of heat that goes through that thing? Chances are that your exhaust pipe is made of aluminum. Just buy one of those fancy mufflers that cover the exhaust. They come in a grey heat proof metal, black heat proof or very heavy chrome--all are pretty scratch resistant, up to a point. Boaz.

You really cannot remove scratches from chromium without rechroming.The only thing i can tell you is polish it often there is a polish called blue- job, look it up online i bought it online it is very expensive but it works good as fucc. unless you have the money to rechrome it, give blue-job a try.

4. There are a lot of bikes out there with removable heat shields for the exhaust. Go to some bike shops, look at bikes with heat shields and buy one that matches what you want to cover. Get someone to tac weld a bracket and install it. A simple 10 min job that can be done with the pipes on the bike.

6. Unfortunately the same thing has happened to me and I have a brand new Hindle exhaust put on so getting another is out of the question. But If you have a stock pipe then you can just put a slip on on it or get a new aftermarket full exhaust. Otherwise, welcome to the club.
7. No good. Is it chrome, or polished 316??? ( stainless steel), or titanium??? Or alloy, for that matter? If it's chrome, then you'll have to get it re chromed. Look on ther body of the exhaust, and see if it's got anything stamped into it. It'll be really obvious, if it has. Look for 316, or stainless steel, or titanium, or a number like 6061 (aluminium). If there's any of the above, you can get the scratches polished out. If it's chrome, then it won't have a scratch, as such. It should look like it's got 'flaking', or a chipped surface. If it's chrome, make enquiries, before you get it rechromed. To buy an aftermarket slip on muffler, will probably be cheaper.
