Why do latinos put giant chrome rims on Nissan Altimas?
This is not meant to be racist or condescending in any way, its just something that i've observed. Why do latinos put 20" chrome rims on their nissan altimas and maximas? Everytime i see one of those cars driven by a latino, it always has humongous chrome rims. Why? Does this have anything to do with cultural aspects?

- because your a racist
- idk but Asian people do the same
- I dont know. Maybe is a state/city thing. I'm hispanic and non of my hispanic friends or my brother has any rims on their cars.. (aside from the ones the came with)..
- cause we latinos like big flashy rims so we can impress people especially girls and to prove that we actually have jobs to buy things like this
- so do african americans and white trash. i dont know. i guess they have a fascination with big shiny objects. most of these 20+" rims tend to be heavy and put more stress on the suspension and brakes. if that is what they think looks good so be it. oh in terms of culture look at how paisas decorate their cars or trucks...lots of shiny chrome things.
- Well...no not necessarly. It doesnt have anything to do with culture. Some of them just find that chrome rims are cool, or in style. OR maybe they have them because they are suppose to have them in order to get into like a gang or click or something. im not really sure. so i hope i helped. :)
- It is racist to say one group of people do a certain thing. Are you white, then I assume you can't dance or jump. Asian? you must drive a honda and be good with computers. It is a preference of the owner of the car, in my area I never see anyone with altimas/maximas with big rims except for my brother and we are white.
- Because they have money and you don't.
- It's all about status... for them, it's a status symbol (they can afford the rims, but not a new BMW).
- Indeed, it's a cultural thing - not bad for a white guy! It's no different than some skinny-assed white kid putting big tires in the rear of his SS 396 and jacking it up - it's a cultural thing except that's one where you ordinarily don't associate with a race. The fact that Latinos are a little darker makes it easier for stupid white people to attribute it to race when it's much more complicated than that. And, yes, I'm speaking as a white guy who's trying to be a bit more enlightened than my brethren.
