Couple questions about my Ford F-150?
1. i was wondering, why didn't ford ever recall their gas gages on their older fords, where like half of them don't work anymore? 2. where can i get 12 volt gas gages to replace mine? 3. how likely would it be that i could trade my complete 88 F-150 front clip XLT(chrome trim around marker and headlights) already primed with a chrome grill and bumper, along with my 86 F-150 front clip will a custom grill, already primed, with minimal rust on the inside like on the battery box. without a hood(have a hood but don't want to get rid of it if possible) all traded for a complete front clip off of a 92-96 F-150 in good shape with the chrome bumper and grill? 4. if my last question wont work, how much can i get for my 86, and 88 front clip sold seperately? (the 88 is on my truck now but I don't like the looks of it) 5. what is the towing capacity on an 88 F-150 XLT Lariat with the 3:55 gear ratios(4X4) with and extra overload spring on the back with a 5.8L 351 Windsor? 6. If nothing works out, how much can I expect to pay for a front clip off of a 92-96 F-150 in good shape with the chrome grill and bumper? thanks for any help

- Ford is known as the "fix or repair daily" vehicle and has been for the last 100 years. I would look for parts in wrecking yards they are full of them
- Ford has always been known for having faulty parts. Hence the logo (found on the road dead) Ford. LOL If you cant find it at a Auto Parts store then try you auto wrecking yards. Or call a parts locator number. I don't know where your at or i would give you a few #'s to call. Anyways I am not sure where your at so giving you a price quote on raw metals wouldn't be fair either, but you could try selling it in your local newspaper or even a penny saver. A penny saver is a small like newspaper that is really cheap and seems like everyone gets em. Hope this helps you out.
- all manufacturers only announce a recall on issues that will raise a SAFETY or EMISSIONS concern with the vehicle. this has nothing to do with manufacturers names or yahoo answers users that have absolutely no business advising decent people on their concerns. this should answer your problem on why there isnt a recall on "gas gauges" for your vehicle. in my experience, the sending unit that bolts to the side of the fuel hanger or pump assy are what usually wear out. i have owned several different brand name vehicles over the years, and ford isnt the only one to have fuel level senders wear out. to replace them you have to find out what part of the vehicle is worn out then call the dealer first to see if the replacement is still available. if not, search on the internet for the specific part you need.
