Torque and Chrome

is there much difference between expensive torque wrench and discount torque wrench?

i need fairly "small" torque wrench, just need approx. 30 ft. lbs. of torque, it will be used a couple times a year, should i spend the xtra money, thanks

  1. For occasional use as you describe, a Craftsman or SK mid priced wrench will serve you just fine.
  2. Yes, price, and accuracy, along with ease of use. Especially with tools, you get what you pay for, and they are an investment after all. I'm still using my daddy's tools.
  3. If you want accuracy, you use a good tool. If you don't care, you use a cheap one. It sounds as though you want to complete the job correctly so I suggest getting a good one. It does not need to be the most expensive. Read the reviews on the different brands to aid in your decision.
