How to remove paint from chrome rims?
Have some over spray on a set of chrome rims that I have just purchased. Need some help so I do not damage the chrome.

- If they are chrome wheels with no clear coat on them use Acetone
- If the rims are clear coated (or when in doubt...) get yourself some detailering clay and some detailing spray. Wet the area with the detailing spray, then rub the area with the clay. For more information on claying, google "clay baring." If the rims are not clear coated, get some 0000 bronze wool and some chrome polish. Soak a small piece of the bronze wool in the chrome polish, and gently rub away at the paint. It's important to get bronze wool (good hardware store or marine store), and not use steel wool. If you absolutely cannot find bronze wool, get a (green - not red!) scotch bright pad, and work a bit slower and with as little pressure as possible. Good luck!
- use some rubbing compound or paint thinner.
