Torque and Chrome

Cordless impact wrenches?

Im looking for a cordless impact wrench, but what is the difference between torque and Max torque? I see Dewalt has 300 ft lbs, and snap on was around the same but had 550 Max torque too.

  1. Max torque just means that is the maximum it is able to do.
  2. As we all know every machine has its limits and effective range of functionality. Being a cordless tool it has its nominal and maximum capacity considering the power being given by the battery itself as per tool specifications. The maximum torque you use, the shorter time the battery can used up. The torque refers to the effective range the tool is designed for, while the maximum torque is the highest torque it can deliver but it will compromise the battery operating hours.
