LCD screens on "custom" cars?

what is the big deal about putting as many LCDs on a car as possible? i can understand one or two, but 6? 7? 10? why? and the places they mount them? in the trunk? under the car? in the mud flaps? wtf!? why? since when does putting an LCD in your rim make your 1986 VW the hottest car on the block? what ever happened to customizing being considered a fancy paint job, the biggest baddest engine you can find, chrome, and leather interior? now its, "lets put 30" rims with tires that only have less than an inch of sidewall, and an lcd in every possible place, even the places where no one will see them" why? whats the functionality of the low profile tires? if you hit one bump with them at over 10MPH, your rim is gonna get bent

Now the irony (of sorts) in the customization culture is apparent with regards to the socio-economic class(es) taking part in doing this to there vehicles. It is typically the less financially secure or HS students
