- coke cola they also sell some cleaner
- Dupont or turtel wax chrome cleaner, Both are very good
- If the chrome is in otherwise good condition, some 0000 steel wool will work nicely.
- i always use neverdull. its in a little silver can its like cotton stuff. it will take it off with enouph rubbing an long as it hasnt rused thru or into it. most of the time it works. i got lots of chrome on my truck. i got my brush guard from a guy, he thot it was junk it was completely brown. but its not no more. jus rubb it on it may take some elbo grease then take another rag and wipe it off. ive never used coca cola on chrome i use that 4 corroded battery posts do not use steel wool either it will leave scratches. thats a nono. u might be able to get by with some chrome and alluminum pollish but neverdull is tha best that ive found
- BRILLO PADS! I GUARANTEE IT!!! MY HUBBY USED IT ON HIS HARLEY!!! MADE IT LOOK LIKE NEW!!!!!!!!!! IT WASN'T NEW!!!!!!!!!
- I've had good luck with SOS pads from the grocery store. Make sure you use them wet with lots of water
- A product called Navel Jelly will take it off.
- The best stuff I've used is Wenol red. It's non-abrasive and is pretty effective. Their website is at: http://www.autogeek.net/wenol.html or http://www.wenol.com/ . If you have pitted metal under the chrome, nothing will fully eliminate that, but you can remove the visible corrosion from the surface. You can also try Naval Jelly which you simply brush on and wash off. Works very well on ferrous (steel/iron) metals. Their website is at: http://www.loctiteproducts.com/products/detail.asp?catid=13&subid=47&plid=169 . Be careful using any metal polishes which have abrasives like talc in them. These can scratch and dull chrome. Also avoid strong acids or caustics like Easy-Off or cola (which contains phosphoric acid) as it can etch the chrome surface. Avoid Brillo pads, Scotchbrite, Emery cloth or other abrasive solutions. I have had good luck by lightly using 000 or 0000 steel wool, but don't apply too much pressure or work it too long, or you will scratch the chrome.
- 4/0 steel wool and Mothers polish.
- There is a product called "Blue Job". It is the only product that will do the tough cleaning, without scratching or dulling chrome. Most if not all tough cleaners are acids or harsh abrasives. Blue Job is a mild calcium carbonate cleaner and I use it on my and my old lady's show quality bikes.Ordinary chrome polish may work too.
- black bbq paint.
