Torque and Chrome

one piece crash bar (engine guard) or 2 piece better?........?

I have a V Star 1100 custom chromed out to the max, and want to get crash bars,( or engine guards) for it should I ever dump it or lay it down. I'm finding 2 types- one piece and 2-piece. Anyone out there have experiences with either or both types and if so, which did you find superior?

1. i would expect a 1 piece set would be stronger, and hoping you can just replace a piece of a 2 piece set if you ever scratched it would be hopeless as they are almost always sold as a set.
